What we collect
- Poll content you submit: title, description, category, candidate/option names, optional photos and dates. Polls are public.
- Votes: which option was chosen, the time, and a one-way hash of an anonymous random browser token. We do not store names, emails or phone numbers of voters.
- Rate-limit data: a salted one-way hash of your IP address and counters, kept for a short time to prevent abuse. We do not store raw IP addresses in the database.
- Reports you send about a poll (reason and optional note).
Cookies
pv_vt– anonymous voter token used to allow one vote per poll per browser (up to 2 years).pv_sess– session cookie for security (CSRF protection); deleted when you close the browser.
These are strictly necessary for the site to work. Clearing them removes the voting record from your browser but not the vote already counted.
Poll creators
When you create a poll you receive a private management link. Only its hash is stored. Anyone with the link can manage the poll, so keep it private.
Uploaded images
Candidate photos are re-encoded on upload (metadata is removed) and are publicly visible with the poll. Do not upload photos of people without permission.
Advertising
PollVibe uses Google AdSense to show ads on informational, listing and result pages (never next to voting buttons). Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and personalise ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Data removal
To request removal of a poll, use the report option on the poll page or the contact page.
